Der Forggensee bei Füssen im Allgäu ist ein Stausee und bildet die zweite Staustufe im Verlauf des Lechs, der seit Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts zur Stromerzeugung stark ausgebaut worden ist. Durch den Staudamm bei Roßhaupten entstand 1954 aus dem ehemaligen Füssener See der Speicher Roßhaupten. Mit einer Fläche von 15,2 km² ist er der größte Stausee in Deutschland und der fünftgrößte See in Bayern, aber bezüglich seiner Herkunft nicht vergleichbar mit den anderen Voralpenseen, die aus Gletscherrandseen entstanden sind. Zum Hochwasserschutz am Lech wird der Wasserspiegel des Forggensees im Winter deutlich abgesenkt.
