Der Strom ist ein ca. 25 Kilometer langer Nebenfluss der Ucker in Brandenburg, durch Wasserbaumaßnahmen heutzutage strenggenommen ein indirekter Zufluss. Sein Quellgebiet sind die Boitzenburger Seen. Durch eine Scheitelhaltung bildet ein gemeinsames Einzugsgebiet mit dem Lychener Gewässer.
