Der Soilasee ist ein natürlicher, periodischer See, der im Sommer meist ganz trockenfällt. Er liegt in einer Senke am Fuße des Laber und des Ettaler Manndls, bei der es sich vermutlich um eine eiszeitlich überprägte Doline handelt .
