Die Sihl ist ein Schweizer Fluss und grösster Nebenfluss der Limmat. Sie entwässert Teile der Schwyzer Voralpen und fliesst dann in einem schmalen Korridor südlich des Zürichsees und nördlich respektiv östlich des Einzugsgebiets von Reuss und Reppisch nach Nordwesten der Stadt Zürich zu, wo sie in die Limmat mündet. Die Sihl ist 69 Kilometer lang und entwässert ein Gebiet von 341 Quadratkilometern.
